About Kit
I worked as a mental health nurse for over ten years and my career culminated in four years as a specialist perinatal mental health nurse. This saw me supporting mothers through the journey of pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. There were of several meaningful aspects of the role, including advocating for women’s heath, empowering parents and holistic care. I found supporting women in matrescence and beyond highly rewarding, which led me to train as a Doula.
I find deep satisfaction in guiding mothers through some of the most significant milestones in their lives. Being part of childbirth and the early stages of parenting is often an emotional and rewarding experience.
I am also a womens’ circles facilitator, which centers on trust and compassion. Holding circles has helped me find peace, acceptance, and perhaps most importantly my voice, something which I felt had been stripped away from me over the years. Circle has given me power, but in that wonderful feminine way, a soft strength, an attunement with my intuition, I found my authenticity and that has bought peace and calm to my soul.
Outside of work I share my home in Churchdown with my husband, my 7yo twins and my stepson. I love to host friends and family whether that’s around the table for dinner, or the fire for hot drinks and marshmallows. I adore the coming together of different sets of people at gatherings, and it brings me great joy to be surrounded by people I care about.
